 – Luis Cavazos Rotary Service: • Luis has been a Rotarian for over 35 years with 33 years of perfect attendance. • He is Charter Member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Brownsville Sunrise. • Has served as Club Membership Chair , Club Service Lane Chair & District Membership Coordinator • Named Rotarian of the year in his club in 2006-07 and 2016-17 & at the district level in 2018-19 • Currently serving in the council of past president, attendance chair in his club, and District 5930 Lt. Governor of Membership. Education: • Graduated from Saint Joseph Academy High School • He is a 1977 graduate of the University of Texas – Austin. • And an M.B.A. from UTB in 1982. • Has his series 7 and Life and Health insurance licenses Professional: • He has been in the field of Business Management, Administration and Finance. • Currently, he is a Financial Advisor with GEF Financial Group, LLC in Brownsville. Other Community Involvement: • Member of the Advisory Board at the Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport. • Past Member of the Saint Joseph Academy school board • Past Member of the Board at Sunshine Haven, and Brownsville Historical Association • Past President of the Serra Club of Brownsville. Personal: • He was born in Brownsville, raised in Matamoros Mexico and has lived in Brownsville for 44 years. • Married for 34 years & has one daughter an educator in Austin, Texas
