The McAllen Rotary Charity Skeet Shoot and Shrimp Boil under the stars! It's happening on Friday June 3rd at Mi Ranchito Sporting Clays starting at 5:45pm. 3 Shooter teams, 10 Station Event with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places as well as the top 2 individual scores.
McAllen Commissioner District 3 Debate 2021 hosted by Dan Worthington and featuring the candidates for Commissioner District 3; Mario Reyna, Thelma Tamez, and Omar Quintanilla.
Five candidates for McAllen mayor will square off in a live-streamed debate Wednesday, March 3rd at 11:45 am. The McAllen Rotary Clubs will be hosting the forum live on Zoom and simultaneously on streaming on Facebook and Youtube.
The McAllen Rotary Club has contributed $187,012.95 to the Rotary Foundation as of June 29, 2018. 100% of our members are recognized as Paul Harris Fellows.
Friday December 15, 2017 we will be having our monthly service project. We will be volunteering at Buckner Family Services Market Days. The event will take place right next to the Buckner Family Hope Center at 39614 Mile 7 Rd. Ste. 3 in Penitas.
All McAllen Rotarians are encouraged to attend. The Market Days event is a market place for hard working people from the colonias to buy some needed household goods, tools to perform work, and personal hygiene items as well as shoes. They pay for these items with "Buckner Bucks" that they have earned by educating themselves to be better parents and citizens by taking classes that Buckner Family Services provides. Come help us be the booth attendants and help these good people.
The Rotary Club of McAllen “ The Mother Club” Established 1920 Contributes $103,057 and over 4768 Volunteer Hours to Rotary and Community
The Rotary Year starts on July 1st for every Club President. Adam R. Lara, 2013-2014 President awarded 7 Paul Harris Fellow Awards. Paul Harris Fellow Awards are given to Rotary Club members and citizens by their contribution and a $1000 donation is given to the Rotary Foundation in their honor. Recipients this year are Raymond R. Davenport, Chhaya Bhakta, Suresh Mansinghani, Christina (Tina) R. Martin, Adrienne Pena-Garza,
R. T. Dixon Jr. and Tony Corso. It is a very prestigious honor .
Several Community Grants were awarded this year including the Feed & Fit Project with all McAllen Rotary Clubs as partners and the Veteran’s War Memorial. A van for the School of the Blind in Reynosa Mexico was donated as well. The Rotary Club of McAllen also partnered with the Port Isabel Rotary Club to build a Water Project in Honduras for an indigent village. The Rotary Club of McAllen also sponsored a Textbook/Library for the RGV Literacy Center that assists over 400 benefactors in Hidalgo County. Hidalgo County currently has over a 50% illiteracy rate. Checks were presented to benefactors the Food Bank RGV and the Salvation Army. Rotary Club recognition awards were given to Jerry Dale as we Rotarian Rookie of the Year, Paul Schwab as “Service Above Self” Award and the Rotarian of the Year was awarded to Mario Ysaguirre. District Governor Maxie Houser officiated the Installation of the Incoming Board of Directors 2014-2015 for the Rotary Club of McAllen. The Incoming President is Cesar Suarez .
